Walk the Cinque Terre Track - Monday 17th October

Today we walked the Cinque Terre track, a track which runs through Cinque Terre's five coastal villages. After a sleepy start, we got ready, then took the train to Monterosso, the fifth village of the five. It was again a sunny day today, and we were not excited about walking in the heat.

We around Monterosso a bit, then started walking towards Vernazza, the fourth village. We arrived in Vernazza an hour and ten minutes later. We kicked off our shoes and dipped our feet into the water. It had a beach, which sadly Riomaggiore does not have. We decided to relax by the beach for a little while, and have some gelato and Pizza. Then we continued walking to Corniglia the third village. That walk had HEAPS of stairs! My legs felt like jelly after I finished walking up all of them. We arrived in Corniglia 50 minutes later. The track from Corniglia to Manarola (the second village) was closed, so we had to train there. We made our way to the train station and caught the train to Manarola. From Manarola, we walked the 20 minute track back to Riomaggiore. In total we walked 8 kilometers!! In the evening we made our first meal, Basil pesto pasta which was really yum.
